Kia Doubles Access to Fast Chargers with Integration to Tesla Network in the U.S. (X @Kia)
Kia’s electric vehicles now have access to Tesla’s Supercharger network in the United States, including the EV6, EV9, and Niro EV models.
This adds 21,500 new fast charging points to the already available network for Kia customers, nearly doubling the total number of accessible public stations to over 40,000 nationwide.
The launch of this integration was delayed by about four months, but it promises to significantly ease long-distance travel for Kia drivers.
The latest models, such as the EV6 (2025) and the EV9 (2026), already come with Tesla’s standard NACS charging port. However, owners of earlier models or the Niro EV will need an adapter to use the Superchargers. Drivers will be able to locate Tesla stations directly via the car’s system or through the Kia app, which also provides information like availability and price. To use Tesla chargers, registration in the program via the app is required.
Kia emphasized the importance of Tesla’s infrastructure and condemned recent attacks on charging stations. With the opening of the Superchargers, Tesla now supports 11 vehicle brands and is preparing to expand this number with nine more automakers about to join the network. This solidifies Tesla’s position as a leader in fast charging infrastructure and significantly expands options for electric vehicle drivers in the U.S.
