Kalashnikov announced that it will showcase the Alfa-E unmanned drone during the MAINEX Far East Mining Forum and Exhibition, scheduled for April 15 and 16, 2026, in Magadan.

Developed by OOO GK Tihie Krylia, a company within the Russian group, the system is described as one of the most efficient solutions for geological exploration in areas with complex terrain.

According to the information released, the Alfa-E reaches productivity of up to 290 kilometers per day, a performance described as a record in Russia among drones weighing up to 30 kilograms. Within this category, most models available on the market are multirotor types, highlighting the distinctive concept behind the system presented by Kalashnikov.

The drone was designed to carry out high-precision magnetic surveys with detailed terrain mapping, including at extremely low altitudes and in mountainous regions. According to the company, it can operate at survey scales ranging from 1:5,000 to 1:25,000, in addition to being compatible with ground-penetrating radars and electrical prospecting equipment.

The manufacturer also recalled that the Alfa-E gained attention in 2024 during the national Up Great “Expedition” technology competition. On that occasion, the system was able to detect objects buried at a depth of 1 meter, accurately indicating their ground coordinates.

Another point highlighted by Kalashnikov is the operational capability of the helicopter-type drone in extended aerial missions. Based on the Alfa-E’s technical characteristics, the operator team needs to move less between different operating points when compared to other multirotor UAVs, which can generate additional savings in time and resources for customers.

After completing the surveys, Tihie Krylia says it provides clients with a range of materials aimed at mineral and geological analysis. These include topographic plans, digital terrain and relief models, anomalous magnetic field maps and derived products, as well as geological interpretation schemes that help identify promising areas for the mining of precious metals and other solid and liquid minerals.

With its presentation in Magadan, Kalashnikov aims to expand the visibility of the Alfa-E in a sector considered strategic to the Russian economy, reinforcing the use of unmanned aircraft in civil applications related to mining, geophysics, and mineral prospecting.
