JuneYao Airlines, the traditional Chinese airline, is venturing into the electric car market with the launch of the JY Air, its first vehicle outside of China, which is arriving in Thailand.
The mid-size sedan features an aerodynamic design inspired by airplanes, with a drag coefficient of 0.23 Cx. Its dimensions are 4.55 meters in length, 1.86 meters in width, and 1.51 meters in height, with a wheelbase of 2.80 meters. The model stands out with its sloping front, curved sides, and short rear.
Inside, the JY Air is equipped with a 15-inch central screen, a two-spoke steering wheel, and wireless charging for smartphones, features commonly found in Chinese electric vehicles.
The electric motor delivers 201 horsepower and 25.2 kgfm of torque. The sedan offers two battery options: one with 51 kWh for a range of 430 km, and another with 64 kWh for a range of up to 520 km.
Currently, the JY Air is available exclusively in Thailand, and JuneYao Airlines has not confirmed whether the car will be sold in China. However, the company is already in negotiations with Kazakhstani authorities to assemble the electric sedan in the country.
