Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has unveiled the prototype of the new Range Rover GT, a fully electric model that will mark the brand’s entry into the luxury grand tourer segment.

With a lower and more aerodynamic design than the manufacturer’s traditional SUVs, the vehicle combines elements of a coupe, sedan, and sport utility vehicle, representing one of the biggest styling changes in the brand’s history.

According to a report by Car and Driver, the Range Rover GT will be the brand’s first model based on the new Electrified Modular Architecture (EMA), developed for electric vehicles.

Initially, the model will be sold only as a fully electric version, although JLR has already confirmed that the platform will support hybrid variants at a later stage in the vehicle’s life cycle.

The manufacturer has also released images of the interior, which features a minimalist design with a digital instrument panel, a large multimedia display, a panoramic roof, and generous space for rear-seat passengers.

According to JLR, the goal is to offer the comfort of a grand tourer without sacrificing the refinement traditionally associated with Range Rover.

“The Range Rover GT will redefine the grand touring segment with its ability to deliver beautiful and engaging GT balance, proportions, and long-distance refinement, while offering capabilities that no conventional GT can match,” said Range Rover chief Martin Limpert.

“We have spent the past few years obsessively working on the foundations of the GT formula, reinterpreted in a sophisticated and uniquely Range Rover way. The result is the most car-like Range Rover ever created, yet one that remains unmistakably capable.”

Prototypes of the Range Rover GT are in the final stage of global testing, and the model’s full unveiling is expected to take place between late 2026 and early 2027.
