Personal vehicle inspired by the Jetsons is already sold out for 2024 and 2025
An aviation event in Italy showcased an innovation that seems straight out of a futuristic cartoon: the Jetson One, an electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft designed for personal use. The difference? It doesn’t require a traditional pilot’s license to operate.
A new way to fly
While many companies are betting on transforming this type of aircraft into air taxis, Jetson’s proposal goes in the opposite direction: they want to put control in the hands of the end user, just like a car — but flying.
The Jetson One costs $128,000 (around R$751,000) and all units for 2024 and 2025 are already sold out.
The aircraft has been approved by Italian authorities for unmanned remote control flights since 2023, being registered by the Aero Club d’Italia as an ultralight vertical take-off and landing aircraft.
While it continues testing in controlled environments, the Jetson One has already flown in the US, including flights piloted by Tomasz Patan, the company’s founder. The brand plans to open a headquarters in the country, where rapper Will.i.am — now also the owner of a model — serves as the official ambassador.
