Jaguar is facing significant challenges in its transition to electric vehicles (EVs), a process that, according to the brand’s boss, has been “extremely frustrating.”

The British carmaker announced earlier this year that it would discontinue most of its current models to focus exclusively on manufacturing EVs by 2025, as part of the “Reimagine” strategy initiated more than three years ago.

However, so far, this strategy has yet to produce new vehicles for the brand, leading to frustration.

Jaguar’s managing director, Rawdon Glover, describes the transition as a “complete reinvention of the brand“, with a focus on positioning itself in the luxury market, limiting production, and concentrating on three models. In addition to the challenge of developing new products, Jaguar is adapting its approach to include a full range of EV services, with the goal of selling fewer units at higher prices.

Later this year, Jaguar will unveil its new four-door electric GT, which is expected to cost over $132.7 thousand. This model will be based on the new Jaguar Electrified Platform, the same one to be used for the two upcoming electric SUVs.
