HRC will hold the auction in August during the Monterey Car Week, Monterey Peninsula, California
Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) will auction engine parts from the Honda V-10, the 1990 Formula 1 race car driven by Ayrton Senna. The auction is part of HRC’s new relics business, which will eventually include other historical items from its motorsport collection.
The first auction will take place during Monterey Car Week in August, and the available parts from Honda’s RA100E V-10 include camshafts and pistons.
Not only will collectors and fans be able to bid on rare parts from Senna’s race car (also driven by Gerhard Berger during the 1990 F1 season), but they will also eventually have the chance to own other motorsport relics, such as autographed items and limited-edition collectibles.

Regarding Senna’s F1 engine parts, HRC states that the RA100E V-10 was dismantled at its factory in Sakura City, Tochigi Prefecture, Japan. The professionals who dismantled it were also the original builders.
The parts to be auctioned include camshafts, connecting rods, pistons, valve covers, and various other external and internal components. These will be displayed in showcases and sold with a certificate of authenticity.

HRC is also working to acquire parts from iconic racing motorcycles, IndyCars, and even vehicles from its historical collection to auction or sell privately.
“Our goal is to make this a valuable business that allows fans who love F1, MotoGP, and various other racing series to share in Honda’s racing challenges since the 1950s,” said HRC President Koji Watanabe. “Including our fans in owning a piece of Honda’s racing history is not intended to be a one-time effort but rather an ongoing business that we will nurture and develop,” he added.
