The Mercedes-Maybach SL680 Monogram Series was unveiled by Maybach during Monterey Car Week, with the exciting announcement that it will arrive in the U.S. in the summer of 2025 as a 2026 model.
Gorden Wagener, the Chief Design Officer at Maybach, stated that the goal was to create the most luxurious and sophisticated version of the standard Mercedes it is based on.
For the first model year, Wagener mentions that the Maybach SL will be available in only two color combinations, named Red Ambience (metallic red) and White Ambience (glossy white), both models featuring a black hood and a white leather interior.
To make the cabin a bit quieter, extensive sound insulation has been installed, along with a new, quieter exhaust system to subdue the 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine.
Maybach has also recalibrated the suspension to smooth out the ride and adjusted the engine mounts, likely to reduce noise, vibration, and harshness.
