The Guardianship Council of Brazil is mobilizing to evaluate the case of a 10-year-old boy who does wheelies on motorcycles in videos made by his father for social media.

To local media outlets, guardianship counselor Patiana Neri said that five representatives of the Council are expected to meet soon to assess the situation, which could be classified as negligence, by exposing the child to unnecessary risks, and possible child labor exploitation.

The boy, described as a “child influencer,” has over 500,000 followers on social media. “Given the number of views and followers on this child’s profile, he is certainly monetizing, and this constitutes child labor exploitation,” Neri told EPTV.

The case was reported to the Council after a violation was caught by the Metropolitan Civil Guard (GCM) last Sunday (17) on Avenida Miguel Padulla, in the area of a condominium in the Bonfim Paulista district of Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo state.

According to the police report, after being stopped by the officers, the boy explained that his father produced content for social media and was present at the location to film the maneuvers.

The motorcycle was seized by authorities. Now, the boy’s father may face criminal charges for allowing an unlicensed person to operate a motor vehicle.
