Greg Biffle, a NASCAR legend, had sent Christmas cards to his family and friends before dying in a tragic plane crash last week.
Biffle, his wife, their two children and three friends died when the private jet they were traveling in crashed in North Carolina last Wednesday (18). Days later, the Christmas cards they had mailed began arriving in the mailboxes of their loved ones.
Ron Herbert, a longtime friend of the NASCAR driver, posted a photo of the card on his Instagram profile, showing a picture of the Biffle family: Greg next to his wife, Cristina, and their two children, Emma, 14, and Ryder, 5.
The card also included a message that read: “We hope you can slow down and enjoy the magic and joy this time of year has to offer. Wishing you a wonderful New Year! With love, Greg, Cristina, Emma and Ryder.”

Herbert’s post moved many fans. “It’s as if they knew that close friends and family would need one last warm hug from them. All our love and support to everyone going through the holidays without those beautiful faces!” wrote one user.
“A message to treasure. I’m praying for every family member and friend who lost so much. Thank you for sharing,” another commented. “What a beautiful card to receive… and so needed at this moment for all of us. Thank you for sharing, Ron. Merry Christmas!” wrote a third.
The family’s private jet, a Cessna C550, exploded as they attempted to land at Statesville Regional Airport. The plane was in the air for only seven minutes before it was engulfed in flames shortly before reaching the runway.

According to People magazine, Cristina had sent a text message to her mother, Cathy Grossu, saying they were “in trouble” shortly before the crash. The other victims were identified as Dennis Dutton, Dutton’s son Jack, and Biffle’s friend Craig Wadsworth.
All seven were on their way to Florida for a birthday trip, according to relatives. Biffle would have turned 56 on Tuesday (23). The accident is under investigation by the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB).
