Based on the Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD ZR2, this vehicle is a long-range electric option, similar to the Ram 1500 Ramcharger, but unlike that model, it utilizes a 2.8-liter turbo Duramax diesel engine to provide additional power when needed.
The Next Gen is equipped with a 12-module battery, allowing it to operate silently in high-threat areas, which is essential for military operations. With this setup, users can monitor critical areas without consuming fuel, and the presence of a diesel engine in cold mode makes it harder to detect with thermal cameras.
Additionally, the truck features various safety measures, such as rollover protection, electronic stability control, and 360-degree cameras.
The vehicle is designed to be highly versatile, capable of being configured with different seating arrangements (two, four, and six seats).
GM Defense’s military EREV promises to consume less fuel than conventional pickups and can take advantage of existing fuel infrastructure. It is ideal for multiple missions, including command and control, evacuation operations, and countering unmanned aerial systems.
