German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced the launch of a new initiative to purchase long-range drones in cooperation with the Ukrainian defense industry.
The statement was made during a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (Ramstein Format) in London. According to European Pravda, the purchase of the military equipment will amount to €300 million.
According to Pistorius, the goal of the initiative is to strengthen Ukraine’s ability to strike deep into enemy territory and bolster its defense. He added that the contracts are flexible, allowing for an increase in the number of drones purchased and the involvement of other countries.

“As part of this initiative, we are signing several contracts with Ukrainian companies worth a total of €300 million. These contracts provide for the delivery of several thousand long-range drones of various types, produced in Ukraine.”
The Minister emphasized that Germany supports Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression and helps it gain an advantage on the battlefield. He also confirmed that Berlin is already in the process of delivering two complete Patriot systems to Ukraine.
