Genesis, the luxury arm of Hyundai, has just unveiled the Magma GT, a V-8-powered supercar that promises to shake up the brand’s performance division.
According to Car and Driver, it seems the brand’s goal with the Magma GT is to prove it can compete with other supercars, such as the legendary Porsche 911, both on and off the racetrack.
With this in mind, the Magma GT will arrive as both a road car and a GT3 race car, likely riding on a new, bespoke platform.
Like its main rival, the Magma GT will also offer a range of trims similar to the Porsche 911, including convertibles, hardcore track models, and lightweight variants.

The concept for the Magma GT revealed that it will feature a powerful drivetrain supported by a V-8 engine. As speculated by Car and Driver, the production model is expected to arrive with a twin-turbo V-8 capable of producing over 600 horsepower.
Genesis is also expected to offer a base-level version with a twin-turbo V-6, possibly a variation of the 3.5-liter unit currently producing 375 horsepower in the G80, G90, GV70, and GV80.
The Genesis Magma GT is expected to arrive in late 2027 or early 2028. Estimated pricing is expected to exceed $150,000, possibly reaching around $200,000.
