Genesis has just announced the GV60 Magma, a highly powerful electric car that delivers all the performance expected from a vehicle carrying the Magma designation.
Under the hood, it features a pair of electric motors producing up to 650 hp and 740 Nm of torque in Boost mode. It will offer several driving modes, but the top speed remains the same across all of them, at 264 km/h.
With all that power, the GV60 Magma can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds, according to Genesis. Its 448 km range in the WLTP cycle comes from an 84 kWh battery pack.

On the outside, it is clear that it uses the regular GV60 as a base, but adds a more aggressive body kit, with a wider front end and a sportier rear look, including a spoiler with a design that appears to add two horn-like elements on the sides.
It features a new electronic suspension control system, while the braking system has been upgraded with front monoblock calipers and larger 400 mm discs on the front axle, and the rear axle has also received improved braking materials.

As a Magma product, the GV60 is also designed to deliver comfort and luxury in addition to performance. It features active noise cancellation and soundproof glass to reduce road noise intrusion, which should help minimize the noise generated by the 21-inch wheels fitted with Pirelli P Zero Elect tires.
Inside, you will find the specific Magma user interface, with three circular displays showing key information such as motor and battery temperatures and speed. And, just like the latest-generation GV60s, the Kia EV6 and the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, it also offers a virtual gear shift system for a more analog driving experience.

“Magma represents our statement that the next ten years will be even more significant,” said José Muñoz, President and CEO of Hyundai Motor Company & Genesis, according to a report by Car Magazine.
“We are not just building high-performance vehicles; we are redefining what a high-performance luxury brand can be when Korean innovation meets global ambition.”
