The French company AEMotion has developed an innovative electric microcar that merges the agility of a motorcycle with the safety of a four-wheeled vehicle.
Compact and stylish, the vehicle features technology that allows it to lean into turns like a motorcycle, despite having four wheels, offering a unique driving experience and futuristic look. At just 79 cm wide, it is ideal for urban traffic and can be parked upright without side support.
The microcar, which does not yet have an official name, accommodates two people with the driver seated in front of the passenger, using four-point seatbelts. It can reach speeds of up to 115 km/h and has a range of up to 200 km with a fixed battery, which can be extended with 70 km swappable batteries.
Equipped with hydraulic disc brakes, bumpers, and impact-absorbing structures based on automotive simulations, the vehicle provides protection even though the driver’s legs are partially exposed.
Initially aimed at long-term rentals for around €200 per month, the model was showcased at the “Viva Technology” fair in Paris. AEMotion plans to begin delivering a pilot batch by the end of 2026, with mass production scheduled for after 2028. So far, there are no plans for sales outside of France.
