Former U.S. Air Force fighter pilot Ryan Bodenheimer reported on his YouTube channel a surprising encounter with an unidentified flying object (UFO) during a training flight in southern Wyoming.
According to him, the episode occurred while flying at 30,000 feet altitude and at a speed of approximately 460 mph (740 km/h), when he noticed a bright object approaching rapidly. Preparing to evade, he realized the object would not collide with his jet, and then managed to observe it better: it had the shape of a perfect rectangle, about 30 to 40 feet (9 to 12 meters) tall, with white glowing edges that seemed to pulse, and a translucent center.
Bodenheimer stated that the object had no wings or visible exhaust and moved at a high speed in a manner incompatible with aerodynamic laws. Despite its proximity, it did not appear on radar nor interfered with communications. After the sighting, the object suddenly accelerated and disappeared. He even informed air traffic control, which responded with silence and only said that other aircraft would remain alert. Later, he discovered that an official report of an anomalous object had been filed in that same region and on the same date.

The pilot, who has had another similar experience, avoided speaking about the matter for years due to the stigma surrounding UFO reports by the military. However, with the increase in cases disclosed in recent years and the diminishing of some of this prejudice, he decided to share his experiences publicly.
Southern Wyoming, where the episode took place, is one of the areas with the most records of unidentified aerial phenomena sightings in the United States, especially in the city of Cheyenne, which hosts a military air base.
