A Ford has launched version 1.4 of its hands-free driving system, the BlueCruise, which promises to allow drivers to drive longer without needing to intervene.

The new update improves vehicle stability within lanes and makes turns smoother, ensuring a more comfortable driving experience.

This version is already available from the factory in the 2025 Ford F-150 and Lincoln Navigator models and will be released as a software update for other vehicles.

The BlueCruise 1.4 allows the hands-free driving mode to be active five times longer compared to the previous version. The update includes a new motion controller that prevents the car from swaying between lanes and adjusts speed more naturally in turns.

Although the system allows the vehicle to change lanes on its own, the driver still needs to activate the turn signal, which distinguishes the BlueCruise from GM’s Super Cruise, which performs this action automatically.

The update will be expanded to other Ford and Lincoln models soon, and vehicles with previous versions of BlueCruise will be able to receive the new software via update. However, the full list of compatible models will be announced by Ford soon.
