A classic Ford F-250 Custom from 1977 was rescued after being abandoned for 35 years in a barn, with just over 27,000 kilometers on the clock.

WD Detailing was tasked with freeing the vehicle from the barn, where it was blocked by barrels and other equipment. During the removal, the team discovered that the barn floor was covered in mud and the tires were flat, making the process more challenging.

Once pulled out of the barn and cleaned with high-pressure water, the pickup revealed its original design, with the white stripes of the Explorer package contrasting with the vehicle’s red. The interior also proved to be in better condition than expected, despite rat droppings and a nest found in the glove compartment.

The only major damage noted was a large dent in the driver’s door, caused by a cow during its time in the barn, but there were no signs of significant rust.

Although they hadn’t attempted to start the 400 cubic inch V-8 engine, the detailing team managed to polish the body to make the paint shine. With this cleaning, the truck seemed ready for off-road adventures or to be sold at auction.

Restoring trucks from the 1970s and 1980s has become an increasingly popular practice, and this F-250 could be worth between $20,000 and $60,000, depending on the level of restoration.
