The Finnish defense company Summa Defence Plc has delivered the first batch of FPV Zeus drones to Ukraine’s defense forces.

According to information from the website Defense Express, in a press release issued on December 23, Summa confirmed the delivery of the drones to the Ukrainian forces.

According to the company, the Zeus drones were supplied earlier this year as part of a move towards industrial-scale production.

The drones are produced within the company’s unmanned aerial systems division, which specializes in the manufacturing of full-cycle drones. The contract value and the number of drones delivered in the first batch have not been disclosed.

Summa Defence Plc described the drones as dual-use products and stated that it has established the capacity for what it calls “industrial supply” of the systems during the year 2025.

The company positioned Ukraine as a key testing ground to refine drone designs in real combat conditions and confirmed that the drones have already been tested on the country’s battlefields.

Jussi Holopainen, director of Summa Defence Plc, said the systems have received positive feedback from the Ukrainian military.

Summa Defence Plc stated that the long-term goal of the Zeus program is to create a proven solution that can later be offered to European customers.

“The project, which has started successfully, will be extended with increased production volumes in 2026,” Holopainen said. In addition to aerial drones, Summa Defence Plc has previously outlined its intentions to produce land robotic systems and maritime drones.
