Ferrari has officially unveiled the Luce, its first fully electric car, marking one of the boldest changes in the history of the Italian manufacturer.

Expected to reach the market in 2027, the model debuts with an impressive 1,035 horsepower generated by four electric motors and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds.

The Luce also draws attention for its futuristic appearance, far removed from the brand’s traditional design, featuring unprecedented elements such as centrally opening doors, giant wheels of up to 24 inches and vertically positioned windshield wipers.

Developed in partnership with the LoveFrom studio, led by designers Jony Ive and Marc Newson, the electric car focuses on a combination of luxury, technology and extreme aerodynamics.

The model has five seats, something unprecedented for a Ferrari, as well as the largest trunk ever produced by the manufacturer.

The interior combines OLED screens, physical controls and advanced digital solutions, while the steering wheel uses special selectors to control energy regeneration and torque delivery, attempting to reproduce the feeling of gear changes from a traditional sports car.

Another highlight of the Luce is its high level of personalization. Ferrari’s official configurator already offers 35 color options divided into four categories, including classic shades of red and bolder options such as Verde Nürburgring and Giallo Ambra.

Buyers will also be able to choose different wheel styles, carbon-fiber finishes, brake caliper colors and exclusive Scuderia Ferrari details, further raising the model’s level of exclusivity.

Despite its huge technological impact, the launch has also sparked intense debate among fans and experts. While many praised the sophisticated interior and futuristic proposal, the exterior design divided opinion on social media.

With an estimated starting price of around US$638,000, the Luce arrives at a moment of uncertainty for the electric supercar market, especially after rival brands showed caution with similar projects.

Even so, Ferrari says the goal of the Luce is to expand the brand’s future without abandoning its sporting essence.
