Ferrari tops the global ranking of automakers with the highest profit per car sold, with an average revenue of around USD 149,971 per unit.

This performance was calculated based on 2024 financial reports, which show the Italian brand leading even in a market that sold about 73 million cars last year, generating USD 2.59 trillion. On average, each vehicle sold worldwide generated around USD 35,478 in revenue.

Ferrari’s standout performance is directly linked to the success of its luxury models, especially the Purosangue SUV, which expanded the brand’s reach. The company’s profit margin reached 28%, highlighting its efficiency in turning sales value into gain.

Other luxury brands like Porsche and Mercedes-Benz also performed well, with profits per unit of USD 19,775 and USD 6,204, respectively. BMW, however, saw a decline in this metric, dropping from USD 7,875 to USD 5,116 per car, mainly due to heavy investments in electrifying its fleet.

On the other hand, newer companies like Lucid, Rivian, and NIO faced major losses. Lucid, for example, suffered a loss of approximately USD 267,797 per vehicle sold. These negative results reflect the challenges faced by emerging brands in the competitive and demanding global automotive market.
