The FBI is offering a US$100,000 reward for any information that helps in the search for the vandals who destroyed ICE vehicles in Minneapolis (USA).
In a post on the agency’s official X profile, federal authorities said that government property was broken into, destroyed, and spray-painted on the night of Wednesday (14).
Photos shared by federal officials showed a car with shattered windows and a long object lodged in the windshield, as well as profanity spray-painted in red around the bodywork, including the phrase “a good agent is a dead agent.”
The vandalism was attributed to growing protests against anti-immigration agents from the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
In the case of Minneapolis, a large public demonstration took place in the northern part of the city after an ICE agent shot a Venezuelan immigrant after allegedly being ambushed.
The man was pursued after running a red light and was shot in the leg after attacking the ambushed officer with a shovel, the Department of Homeland Security stated.
The death of protester Renee Nicole Good has also fueled further protests both in Minneapolis and across the country.
On January 7, Jonathan Ross, an ICE agent, fired at her SUV after she allegedly attempted to strike authorities with her car during an anti-immigration operation in the city.
