Spartan-SUT armored vehicles, produced by the Emirati company Streit Group, have been spotted with the Russian National Guard, according to the Telegram channel Vodohrai.

The released images show three units equipped with anti-drone armor, while other Streit models, such as the Cobra and Cougar, also appear in the photos. The first appearance of the Spartan-SUT in Russia was recorded in the fall of 2024, with the vehicles displaying the manufacturer’s characteristic desert camouflage.

The Spartan-SUT is a STANAG II armored personnel carrier, designed for peacekeeping missions, convoy escort, urban patrols, and border protection. With a modular structure and a body made of high-resistance ballistic steel, the vehicle features a rear cargo compartment that facilitates rapid equipment loading, ensuring mobility and efficiency in dynamic combat situations.

It is still unclear how the vehicles reached Russia, but it is believed they were supplied through third countries without the manufacturer’s official knowledge. Considering that Streit is now managed by Russian national Herman Gutorov, the possibility of a direct purchase agreement through intermediaries cannot be ruled out.

Nevertheless, Streit vehicles remain in use with the Ukrainian Defense Forces, although they have largely been replaced by domestic and Western-made products.
