Elvis Presley’s Guitar-Shaped Cadillac Is Being Auctioned for Less Than \$11,000 (eBay)
A custom Cadillac Eldorado shaped like a guitar, which allegedly belonged to Elvis Presley, is for sale on eBay for around $10,700—less than the cost of a brand-new Renault Kwid.
The vehicle was built in the 1970s by specialist Jay Ohsberg, the same person responsible for custom versions of the Batmobile and the DeLorean from “Back to the Future.” It’s a one-of-a-kind piece, measuring 12.5 meters long and molded to resemble a pink guitar used by Elvis during a performance in Las Vegas. After that, the car disappeared for decades.
To create the transformation, Ohsberg split the Cadillac in half, extended the rear to form the body of the guitar, and placed the driver’s seat in the center of the “sound hole.” The front of the car represents the guitar’s headstock, complete with strings and tuning pegs.
Made of fiberglass, the vehicle now shows signs of wear, such as chipped paint and missing decorative strings. Its 410-horsepower V8 engine is not functional, which may explain the low price for such a rare item.
The car is located in Orléans, France, and can only be purchased with cash upon pickup—no returns accepted. It is unclear how the vehicle ended up in Europe, as Elvis never lived there.
This is not the first time such a case has occurred: another Cadillac linked to Elvis was found in a junkyard in 2022, but its authenticity was never confirmed.
