Elon Musk has just broken a world record after becoming the first person to reach a fortune of $500 billion.

According to Forbes magazine, Musk’s total fortune, as CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, founder of Neuralink, and owner of the social network X, surpassed the $500 billion mark last Wednesday (1).

Forbes’ analysis notes that the entrepreneur’s achievement is linked to his resignation from public office and his full focus on business projects.

Currently, Musk is the richest man in the world and is already halfway to a trillion, according to Forbes.

His wealth is closely tied to his roughly 12% stake in Tesla, the world’s most valuable automaker.

Musk’s AI startup, xAI, and his rocket company SpaceX also increased their valuations this year and are reportedly raising funds at $200 billion and $400 billion valuations, respectively.
