The Mercedes CLA electric, not yet released, has already broken a record by traveling 3,715 kilometers in 24 hours at the Nardo circuit in Italy, surpassing the Porsche Taycan, which had traveled 3,424 km on the same route.

During the test, the CLA was recharged 40 times, each stop lasting 10 minutes, and maintained an average of about 153 km/h. Mercedes leveraged the 800V electric architecture and DC fast charging, which allowed for short intervals between charges.

The prototype used for the record had rear-wheel drive, a single motor, and a two-speed transmission, but the final version of the CLA will be offered in all-wheel-drive and dual-motor configurations.

In addition to the electric versions, the brand will also launch the model with an internal combustion engine, equipped with a new 2.0-liter gasoline engine, developed through a partnership between Geely and Renault.
