The unmanned ground vehicle Droid TW-7.62 was used by Ukrainian troops to contain an attack by Russian forces on the front line.
Operated by a member of the unit known as the Disney Squad, the armed robot directly participated in the combat by identifying and attacking enemy soldiers.
During the mission, the system detected two drones that were lying in ambush waiting for the arrival of Ukrainian troops and destroyed them before they could be used. It then opened fire on opposing infantry and maintained pressure on Russian positions throughout the engagement.
According to the manufacturer DevDroid, the system’s intense fire forced enemy forces to retreat, allowing the Ukrainian unit to completely repel the attack. For the company’s CEO, Yurii Poritskyi, the use of armed robots demonstrates how autonomous technologies are taking on increasingly dangerous roles on the battlefield.
The Droid TW-7.62 is a robotic reconnaissance and attack vehicle equipped with a KT-7.62 (PKT) machine gun and a ballistic computer that improves firing accuracy. The system also uses artificial intelligence features to automatically detect and track targets. In January 2026, another vehicle of the same model, based on the NUMO platform, even captured three Russian soldiers during an operation.
