According to sources close to the government, the jet should be ready for use by the end of this year. Afterward, it will be transferred to the Trump Presidential Library, as per an agreement discussed between the U.S. government and Qatari authorities.

The potential agreement has sparked criticism from Democratic lawmakers, who point to ethical conflicts and question Qatar’s role in offering the plane, with the country previously accused of financing extremist groups. Congress members like Ritchie Torres and Chuck Schumer have suggested the donation could represent disguised foreign influence and warned about the risk of the plane being seen as a personal gift, even though it is formally intended for the U.S. government.

White House lawyers, however, assessed the legality of the process based on the U.S. Constitution and concluded that the donation is permitted. Since the plane is not being directly given to Trump and is not conditioned on political favors, the initiative has been deemed legitimate.

So far, neither the U.S. government nor the Qatari government have officially commented on the matter.
