Dodge is entering the 2024-2025 Nitrocross season with an electric version of its Hornet crossover, transformed into the Hornet R/T FC1-X, a rally car with an impressive 1072 horsepower.
The vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 1.4 seconds and competes in the championship’s top class, Group E.
The racing Hornet shares only the name and the design of the headlights and grille with the street crossover, while its design is centered around a tubular chassis with a carbon fiber body, double wishbone suspension, and adjustable stabilizer bars.
The Nitrocross championship, founded in 2020 by famous driver and stuntman Travis Pastrana, features exciting races on dirt tracks with jumps and drifts. All Group E cars use the same base model, the FC1-X, making design details like the Hornet’s headlights and grille the only elements that distinguish Dodge’s car from the others.
Dodge’s goal with this participation is to attract a younger audience, as about 75% of Nitrocross fans are between 18 and 34 years old.
