Passionate about the brand, José Vitor Estevam Siqueira started the project in 2017, using simple materials and experimental techniques. In 2018, due to financial difficulties, he posted the prototype online, which caught the attention of the Italian automaker. Ferrari claimed misuse of intellectual property and requested the seizure and possible destruction of the vehicle.

The case went to court, and the dentist was sentenced to stop producing and selling replicas, as well as paying just over $7,360 in damages and lost profits. However, to this day, the automaker is trying to recover the full amount, having found only $153 in the defendant’s accounts.

During the trial, Vitor also filed a lawsuit against Ferrari, requesting $17,300 for moral damages due to the exposure of the case, but his request was denied.

Vitor explained that he listed the car for sale after facing financial problems caused by the theft of equipment from his dental clinic. Although he removed the ad a few days later, Ferrari maintained the accusation, reinforcing its policy against replicas and improper use of the brand in Brazil.

The case remains an example of the strict measures taken by the automaker against intellectual property violations.
