The Danish Ministry of Defence has signed a contract with Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles (RMMV) to equip the 1st Brigade with new HX2 trucks—modern platforms compatible with NATO standards.
Delivery of the vehicles will continue through 2028, and RMMV will be the sole manufacturer responsible for the entire batch, including 4×4, 6×6, and 8×8 versions.

According to the Defence Logistics and Acquisition Board (FMI), the HX2 trucks will enhance mobility and operational capability in difficult terrain, offering payloads between 5 and 16 tons, engines up to 480 hp, and optional protection compliant with STANAG 4569. Colonel Thomas Øgendahl Knudsen emphasized that the contract significantly strengthens the brigade’s combat capabilities.
The acquisition, funded by the Acceleration Fund, prioritized the manufacturer with the fastest production cycle and full compatibility with Danish requirements. The agreement follows Rheinmetall’s recent expansion, which also includes the production of an additional 1,388 trucks for the Bundeswehr.
