Czech Defense Minister Jana Černochová emphasized the strategic importance of the acquisition, highlighting the need for robust military transport capabilities: “The past and present clearly show us that the military must be capable of transporting people and heavy cargo over long distances. Evacuations from Afghanistan or Sudan are clear proof of this. Therefore, I am very pleased that we have been able to acquire aircraft for our Air Force capable of performing these tasks.”
The purchase of the C-390 Millennium aircraft marks a significant step for Embraer, consolidating its presence in the European market and reinforcing the Czech Republic’s confidence in its technologies. Embraer’s Marketing Director, Marcio Eduardo Regis Monteiro, celebrated the partnership: “The Czech Republic’s order is another important milestone for Embraer, confirming the country’s confidence in our advanced technologies for Czech Armed Forces missions and highlighting that the aircraft is suitable for operations in Europe and within NATO. Furthermore, it deepens Embraer’s cooperation with the Czech aviation industry, which has been recognized for decades for its expertise and product quality.”
Embraer has been consolidating its position on the international defense scene, with the C-390 Millennium being adopted by multiple countries for strategic transport missions and tactical operations. The partnership with the Czech Republic is expected to expand collaboration opportunities between the defense sectors of both countries, further strengthening NATO’s logistical capabilities.
