The National Guard of Cyprus presented during a military parade the new Serbian multiple rocket launcher system Tamnava, developed by the state-owned company Yugoimport.
The self-propelled and modular equipment can fire 122 mm rockets (Grad variant) and 262 mm rockets, and was acquired to expand the long-range firepower of the Cypriot forces.
The Tamnava stands out for its high level of automation: it integrates an advanced fire control system with inertial navigation, automatic alignment, meteorological sensors, an electronic goniometer for artillery reconnaissance, and modern communications.

This automation enables pre-programmed firing missions with minimal crew intervention and provides real-time data on the type and status of the munitions, improving situational awareness and logistics management.
Furthermore, the system was designed to survive on the battlefield: it can quickly fire salvos, reposition to evade counter-battery fire, and operate even under electronic warfare conditions.
The standard configuration includes two launch modules (up to 96 rockets of 122 mm or 12 of 262 mm), reloading with an onboard crane, and the possibility of remote operation up to 25 meters away—measures that enhance crew safety and increase Tamnava’s flexibility in both conventional and asymmetric scenarios.
