On November 23, a Colorado police officer grabbed a child’s bike from a family’s yard to chase down a suspect wanted for theft in a Denver neighborhood. The footage was released by the Lone Tree Police Department.

The video shows the officer, identified as Jacob Tarr, jumping over fences and running through the streets until he encounters the bike, which he uses to continue the chase.

The suspect was riding a motorized scooter that had been stolen during the escape. Moments later, Tarr was able to capture the suspect with the help of other officers.

“When you’re a cop on a mission to protect your citizens, nothing will stop you—even if your patrol car is nowhere nearby and the suspect is fleeing on a scooter,” said the department in a statement.

The suspect, who had three outstanding warrants, including one for armed robbery.
