The Mystichrome paint, which changes color, is back as an option for RTR Mustangs, after being briefly offered in 2004 for the SVT Mustang Cobra.

The “Mystichrome” combines shades of blue, purple, green, brown, and gold, allowing the driver to see different colors depending on the light and angle. The paint is available as a “Premium” option for the 2024 model, but only through RTR Vehicles.

While Mystichrome shares some similarities with Mystic, another color-changing paint from Ford, they are not identical. Mystic was more subtle and used a unique dye, the procurement of which for repairs still requires government approval. Mystichrome does not face the same limitations, although it is complex.

This new color option is not accessible to all consumers, as it is listed as a $15,995 upgrade. Additionally, Mystichrome will only be available on the RTR Spec 2 and Spec 3 Mustangs, with production limited to one thousand vehicles.
