A resident of the Sîngerei district in Moldova accidentally found a drone that had fallen in a field between the villages of Pepeni and Kopaceni.
The man then decided to transport it in his cart to Pepeni, without understanding the possible risks of his action. The case was reported by the Ukrainian portal Militarnyi after Mayor Oleg Cernei shared the incident on his Facebook page.
Cernei explained that he received the photos with the message: “Mr. Mayor, a drone is being taken through the village in a two-wheeled cart.” The man was located after the mayor alerted the police.
Last week, Russian drones illegally crossed Moldovan airspace twice. The incident in Pepeni may be related to this activity, but there is no official confirmation yet.
