Citroën Ami gets a facelift, Buggy version, and new customization options to increase its appeal (Instagram @citroen)
The Citroën Ami has undergone its first facelift since its launch three years ago. The visual changes, inspired by the concept presented at the Paris Motor Show, have given the small electric car a friendlier look.
Among the highlights of the new design are the higher headlights and the removal of the black bar at the front, which now features the Citroën logo and integrated headlights in an area that resembles a smile. The more prominent wheel arches and new creases also give the model a more robust appearance.
In addition to the refreshed design, Citroën has expanded the Ami’s range by officially adding the Buggy version, which was previously sold only as a limited edition. This variant has a more adventurous style, with metal bars instead of doors, a removable roof, and accessories such as zippered doors and a canvas top.
The Buggy is priced from 10,854 euros, which can go up to 11,300 euros with the special Palmeira package, which includes items like mats, a phone holder, and the Andy mascot. The standard and Cargo versions start at 9,000 euros, with color customization packages available (Spicy, Icy, and Minty).
Despite the facelift, the Ami retains the same technical specifications: an 8 hp electric motor, a top speed of 45 km/h, and a range of up to 70 km, with a full charge in three hours. Due to its simple features, the Ami is classified as a quadricycle in Europe, allowing it to be driven by teenagers in some countries.
