Chinese brand unveils pickup inspired by Tesla’s Cybertruck (Official Site / Dongfeng)

The Chinese brand Dongfeng unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show a pickup that is clearly inspired by the Cybertruck model from Tesla.

The concept, called “Pick-up Concept”, mimics many aspects of Elon Musk’s pickup, including the sharp, straight lines, LED headlights, slanted windshield, and even a camping tent in the cargo bed, very similar to the Cybertruck.

The suicide-style doors and retractable running boards are also features that draw attention in the Chinese model. The body, however, is made of a simpler material that mimics stainless steel.

Inside, the pickup also features a futuristic design, with unusually designed seats, possibly made of carbon fiber, and a rectangular steering wheel.

Despite the strong resemblance, the Dongfeng concept introduces some subtle differences. The shape of the vehicle is a bit more conservative, with less ‘sharp’ body corners.

Dongfeng revealed that its “Pick-up Concept” is built on a “skate” type platform, and its engines produce an impressive 1,049 hp, surpassing the most powerful version of the Cybertruck. However, details about performance or a possible release date have not been disclosed. This content was created with the help of AI and reviewed by the editorial team.
