Chevrolet has just revealed the Corvette ZR1X, a high-performance hybrid model that promises to rival European hypercars like the Ferrari F80 and the McLaren W1.

With 1,250 hp and all-wheel drive, the ZR1X is an evolution of the already impressive ZR1, which breaks records with its 1,064 hp and 0-60 mph acceleration in 2.2 seconds. The X version adds an electric front axle, improving traction and stability, and offers intelligent driving modes that prioritize performance or energy efficiency.

Contrary to speculation, the ZR1X will not carry the name “Zora,” but it establishes itself as the top of the Corvette lineup. Its design maintains the model’s identity, with few visual changes apart from details like specific badges and ceramic brakes—the largest ever used by GM. The interior has been modernized with larger screens and more intuitive controls, maintaining its sporty DNA but with greater refinement.

Despite the extra weight due to the hybrid system, the ZR1X promises brutal acceleration, reaching 60 mph in under 2 seconds and completing the quarter-mile in less than 9 seconds. Engineers highlight the harmony between the twin-turbo V8 engine and the electric system, ensuring predictable and aggressive performance in any situation. The top speed should match the ZR1’s 233 mph, although few tracks worldwide allow exploiting its full potential.

Chevrolet has not yet announced prices, but estimates suggest the ZR1X will start at around $210,000, positioning it as a more affordable option compared to rivals exceeding $2 million.

With no production limits, the brand hopes to meet the demand of enthusiasts seeking a hypercar with American DNA and cutting-edge technology.
