Caterham creates fusion between car and helicopter with the Seven 360R in partnership with the Royal Air Force

Have you ever imagined what happens when you combine a car with a helicopter? Caterham Cars has the answer with the Seven 360R, created from parts of a Puma HC2 helicopter from the Royal Air Force (RAF).

This project, developed by the British manufacturer in partnership with the Royal Air Force, uses components from the retired XW232, which has served since 1972, to raise funds for Mission Motorsport and the RAF Benevolent Fund.

The Caterham Seven 360R features panels made from the aluminum chassis of the Puma, including the ejection handle from the rear bulkhead. Additionally, the 360R’s chassis has been painted to match the aircraft’s original finish.

Inside, the doors are lined with acoustic insulation from the Puma, as well as the central tunnel and carbon fiber seats. The dashboard features a matte black finish, with reused military equipment and a helicopter navigation clock as a centerpiece.

This special car will be showcased in the Military Village at the British Grand Prix this weekend, and then auctioned by Collection Cars, aiming to raise over $128,000 for charity.
