The CAMCOPTER S-300 drone, produced by the Austrian company Schiebel, was presented for the first time as a full-scale model during ADEX 2025 in Seoul, South Korea.

According to the website Naval News, the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) CAMCOPTER S-300, which is a larger version of the CAMCOPTER S-100, was first presented by Schiebel at Euronaval 2022.

It measures 4.8 meters in length, 1.9 meters in height, and 0.9 meters in width, and can fly at a maximum speed of 120 knots (cruising speed of 55 knots). But beyond the size, the real difference compared to the S-100 system is its payload capacity.

The S-300 can carry up to 340 kg (including fuel) and its maximum takeoff weight can reach 660 kg. This is basically three times more than the S-100. With a 50 kg payload, the S-300 can fly up to 24 hours and about 4 hours with a 250 kg load.

The launch customer for the S-300 will be South Korea. In 2024, Schiebel signed a contract with the South Korean company Hanwha Systems for the supply of the S-300 for Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition, and Reconnaissance (ISTAR) missions for the Republic of Korea Navy and Marine Corps (ROK).

“The embarked Unmanned Aerial System [S-300] will be deployed in the Navy and Marine Corps in 2028, performing missions to detect early signs of hostility or provocations from enemy or neighboring states using EO/IR and SAR cameras,” stated the poster at the Hanwha Systems exhibition during ADEX 2025.
