The CAMCOPTER S-100, a drone developed by the Austrian Schiebel Group, was one of the highlights of the military exercise REPMUS 2025, organized by the Portuguese Navy and NATO.
The event brought together allied forces and defense sector companies to test autonomous technologies in maritime operations, and the S-100 demonstrated advances in versatility, integration with naval systems, and real-time data collection capabilities.
During the tests, the drone carried out complex missions equipped with cutting-edge sensors and payloads. Among the highlights was the CRFS RFeye Node 100-18 LW sensor, which allows capturing and analyzing radio frequency signals up to 18 GHz, providing signals intelligence (SIGINT) even in contested electromagnetic environments. The S-100 also integrated NATO’s DIANA artificial intelligence framework via the Skylock module, enabling automatic anomaly detection and data analysis during flight.
Schiebel also showcased the drone’s compatibility with Thales’ Tacticos combat system, enabling direct control from the naval interface. The S-100 also incorporated technologies such as the bathymetric LiDAR PNGS by the U.S. company Areté, used to map the seabed, and the Oceanwatch PT-8 sensor, which detects objects over large oceanic areas.
These demonstrations highlight the role of the CAMCOPTER S-100 as a strategic tool for maritime surveillance missions and military interoperability within NATO standards.
