Aiming to compete with models like the Ford Ranger, Chevy Colorado, Toyota Hilux and Nissan Navara, the Shark will be produced in China, with a new production plant planned for Mexico.
With a robust design, the Shark features a wheelbase of 128.3 inches and lighting elements similar to those of the Ford F-150 Lightning.
Equipped with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine and two electric motors, the vehicle offers a combined power of 430 horsepower. The pickup has a towing capacity of approximately 2500 kilograms and a maximum payload capacity of 835 kilograms, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in about 5.7 seconds.
The Shark stands out for its impressive range, being able to travel up to 100 kilometers in all-electric mode and over 830 kilometers with a full tank of gasoline and a charged battery. Its interior combines technology and practicality, with a 12.8-inch rotating infotainment screen compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The new BYD model is available in two versions, GL and GS. The Shark can be reserved in Mexico with prices starting at $53,938.
