The Yangwang U8L has been described as a “tank-like vehicle” capable of performing versatile maneuvers around its own axis. It is also able to float on water for up to 30 minutes.
The new Yangwang family SUV from BYD operates on an EREV (extended-range electric vehicle) system, consisting of four electric motors and a 2.0 turbo gasoline engine that functions as a generator.
With 1,180 hp, it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds. In electric mode, the vehicle has a range of about 200 km. With the generator running, the combined range increases to approximately 1,160 km.
In terms of dimensions, it measures 5,400 mm in length, 2,049 mm in width and 1,921 mm in height, making it larger than traditional luxury SUVs. Its starting price is around ¥1.28 million (approximately USD 181,000).
