The British Army has officially received 100 Ajax armored vehicles, marking an important step forward in the military program, which is on track to reach its Initial Operational Capability by December 2025.
The project, led by General Dynamics UK, faced years of technical difficulties, delays, and criticism, but has finally managed to deliver the vehicles according to the latest standard, which will be integrated into the Household Cavalry Regiment.

The Ajax program, initiated in 2010 and valued at $7.37 billion, aims to deliver 589 vehicles in various versions, including reconnaissance units with 40mm cannons, personnel transport, command, repair, recovery, and engineering reconnaissance vehicles.
Despite issues, such as concerns about crew safety due to noise and vibrations, the Ministry of Defence remains confident in delivering more than 180 vehicles ready for use by the end of 2025.
Even with the delay compared to the original plan, which called for the use of Ajax as early as 2017, the UK government continues to treat the program as a key piece in the modernization of the Armed Forces, within the “Future Soldier” strategy. The focus now is to ensure that the production and delivery pace remains on track to achieve the set goals by the end of the year.
