Brazilian influencer Samuel Sant’Anna, better known as “Gato Preto,” was indicted for four crimes following an accident caused by the Porsche he was driving in São Paulo.

Gato Preto was indicted for negligent bodily injury, fleeing the scene, driving under the influence of alcohol or another psychoactive substance, and tampering with the accident scene, according to the Brazilian portal UOL.

The accident occurred on August 20, 2025. Security camera footage shows Gato Preto running a red light and crashing his Porsche 911 into another car while driving along Avenida Brigadeiro Faria Lima in the western zone of São Paulo.

Despite the severity of the accident, Gato Preto fled the scene without assisting the occupants of the other car, a man driving a Hyundai HB20 with his 20-year-old son. The young man suffered a jaw fracture and had to be hospitalized.

Later, the HB20 driver gave an interview to local media outlets, saying he had even been threatened by the influencer. “He said he was going to hit me,” the victim told TV Globo.

Hours later, Gato Preto was located and arrested in his apartment. He refused to take a breathalyzer test and was taken to the police station but was released shortly afterward.

In October, the case was reclassified from bodily injury to attempted homicide, at the request of the São Paulo Public Prosecutor’s Office. Despite this, the police indictment for bodily injury differs from the court’s interpretation of the case.

According to prosecutor Ana Paola Ferrari Ambra, Gato Preto assumed the risk of killing. Toxicology report data from the Legal Medical Institute (IML) indicate that the influencer was intoxicated at the time of the accident.
