American aerospace manufacturer Bell Textron has confirmed it is ready to supply AH-1Z Viper and UH-1Y Venom helicopters to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The decision comes following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the company and the Ukrainian government in Washington, which provides for industrial cooperation and the possibility of future aircraft deliveries. According to Bell, the two models share approximately 85% of their components, which facilitates maintenance, training, and logistics, while increasing operational readiness.

The helicopters are designed to operate together, offering a combination of offensive and transport capabilities. The AH-1Z Viper specializes in precision strikes and combat endurance, while the UH-1Y Venom performs troop transport, medical evacuation, and general support. Bell officials state that these models can play a key role in strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities, modernizing air support, and enhancing the effectiveness of military operations.

The memorandum also includes the creation of assembly and maintenance facilities within Ukraine, strengthening the local industry and promoting defense autonomy. This cooperation reflects Ukraine’s closer ties with U.S. defense companies and its ongoing efforts to modernize its military aviation.

If finalized, the agreement will allow Ukraine to operate a modern, reliable helicopter fleet adaptable to complex combat environments.
