According to the company’s CEO, Jeffrey Schlosser, the helicopter was officially offered as part of the effort to strengthen the country’s light and low-cost helicopter forces.

The revelation that Ukraine received the offer of the aircraft occurred during the Farnborough International Airshow 2024, held in Farnborough, United Kingdom.

The 407M model is an evolution of the Bell 407GT, first introduced in 2013. This helicopter is equipped with modern guidance systems and a laser target designation sensor, allowing the use of an advanced set of armaments.

With a maximum payload capacity of 2.2 tons, the Bell 407M can be equipped with 7.62 mm and 12.7 mm machine guns, two blocks of Hydra unguided rockets or their APKWS guided versions, as well as AGM-114 Hellfire anti-tank guided missiles, which use a semi-active seeker.

The proposal aims to offer Ukraine an efficient and modern solution for its defense needs, significantly expanding its operational capabilities with versatile and well-armed attack helicopters.
