BAE Systems and Lockheed Martin have announced the joint development of Blizzard, a new modular uncrewed aerial system designed for multiple military missions.

Created by the FalconWorks and Skunk Works divisions, the system was designed for rapid deployment in operations and to perform tasks such as electronic warfare, precision strikes and coordinated operations with other autonomous platforms and crewed aircraft.

One of Blizzard’s main distinguishing features is its versatility. The platform can be launched from aircraft, ground vehicles, vessels and even large transport aircraft, significantly expanding its potential use in different operational scenarios. In addition, its modular structure allows the installation of various payloads, adapting the system to the objectives of each mission.

The project was also developed to address the challenges of modern conflicts.
