Ukrainian military personnel are training U.S. troops to use their Sky Map drone detection system, which was recently deployed at Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia.
According to a report by Reuters, citing sources familiar with the matter, Ukrainian specialists arrived at the base to train American personnel to detect Iranian Shahed drones and coordinate interceptor strikes.
The Sky Map system was developed by the Ukrainian company Sky Fortress with support from the Brave1 program. The software processes data from radars and a network of more than 10,000 acoustic sensors, allowing military personnel to track threats through an interactive dashboard featuring maps and video feeds.
The technology was introduced in recent weeks at the U.S. base in Saudi Arabia to protect the installation from drone attacks that had previously resulted in the destruction of aircraft and the death of a soldier.
It is worth noting that the Ukrainian assistance came about a month after U.S. President Donald Trump publicly rejected an offer from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to support the United States in countering Iranian drones.
